REBECCA SANTINI - MEDICAL DOCTOR

Rebecca Santini is recognized by Continental Who’s Who among America’s Medical Doctors. As Director of Inpatient Oncology at Columbia University Medical Center in New York, Santini has been breaking unfamiliar ground in the medical industry ever since the start of her career as a resident at the hospital.

Santini began her Oncology career after graduating medical school from Columbia University. She completed her undergraduate degree at Columbia, graduating Magna Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry.

Santini continued her education, and while earning her PhD, she spent two years abroad, in Australia, with a team of cancer experts and scientists, conducting medical research on cancer treatments. Santini returned to the US in 2000 as Chief Radiation Oncology Resident at Columbia University Hospital.

Before being appointed Director of Inpatient Oncology at Columbia, Santini was an associate professor of medicine at Albert Einstein college of Medicine in New York. While there, Santini was also President of the Medical Researchers Association (MRA). MRA is a program for medical students to work alongside scientists and researchers to make advances in drugs for patients going through chemotherapy.

During her career, Santini’s dedication and genuine concern for her patients has made her an asset to the medical staff, patients, and families. Her commitment to educating patients during chemotherapy makes her president and founder of Patient Empowerment Through Education (PETE). This organization was established to provide patients and families with comprehensive information surrounding their cancer and their treatment.

From patients in the early stages of cancer, to those with more aggressive and malignant forms, Santini has used her knowledge, experience and intuition to decide the best treatments for each individual. Santini will tell you that she is not afraid of getting close to her patients; part of what has made her career so rewarding is getting to know them. She takes a genuine interest in her patients and that is the difference that most people are looking for.
